Southern Nuclear Operating Company's Plant Vogtle 3&4 Site Engineering organization is seeking a high performing Electrical Engineer with an analytical mindset and strong technical and leadership skills to support commissioning and operation of the next generation nuclear power station. This position will be located at Southern Nuclear Company's Plant Vogtle in Waynesboro, Georgia.
Job Summary
This position is assigned to the Site Design Engineering organization in the Electrical Design group and is part of the Startup Engineering organization at the Vogtle 3&4 site. This position will provide electrical engineering support for design changes primarily for the station’s electrical equipment.

Specific responsibilities include:
Obtain Design qualifications and support development and implementation of design changes for Vogtle 3&4 and designs interfacing with the operating units Vogtle 1&2
Obtain emergency response organization qualifications and serve on a duty team rotation.
Develop and maintain technical knowledge regarding AP1000 electrical systems and equipment design - Support development, implementation, and maintenance of programs, processes, and procedures as they relate to electrical systems.
Participate in industry groups (EPRI, IEEE, NEI, etc.) supporting electrical systems.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university.
EIT/FE or Professional Engineer Registration is a plus.
Job Requirements:
Though there will be opportunities to work from home, must be willing and able to work at the site and reside close enough to site to respond within 90 minutes.
Commercial nuclear power plant experience in electrical design, modifications, and/or systems engineering is plus.
Knowledge and understanding commercial nuclear power plant regulations, codes, and standards is a plus.
3 years engineering experience in electrical design is desired.
3 years nuclear power plant related engineering experience is desired.
Previous design change experience is desired.

The successful candidate must meet background screening and NRC Fitness for Duty requirements.
Must satisfactorily complete the 5-week Systems Engineering training program.
The successful candidate must be willing to travel to other plants within the fleet for mentoring during qualification process.
