Sr. Land Management, Agent
The position is a utility land rights professional supporting construction and maintenance of natural gas infrastructure. Sr. Land Management Agent responsibilities include the following: researching property titles, determining ownership or extent of ownership, advocating for Company’s rights, issuing encroachment agreements, negotiating easement terms and price, preparing assessments, securing road jurisdiction and special use permits, disposing of land assets, as well as arranging payment to grantor. Sr. Land Management Agent regularly serves the company as a subject matter resource in conceptualizing, developing and resolving matters of land rights.
Application of real estate principles and practices including abstracts, appraisals, conveyances, eminent domain, encroachments, encumbrances, legal issues, permits, surveys, title, valuation and zoning.
Perform real estate investigations determining a property’s ownership, restrictions, encumbrances and rights (including in-field/out-of-office research).
Process applications of external parties to use or to cross company rights-of-way and properties. Of particular importance is identifying utility relocation projects where costs should be reimbursable from others.
Examination of engineering drawings, GIS records and other documents to determine the location and extent of existing land rights or those of land rights to be acquired, also for accuracy of land rights being documented.
Identification of roadway agencies requiring permits and the extent of those permits as well as the communication of such permit requirements and status to other company personnel.
Creation or completion of correspondence and documentation for permitting, land acquisition, encroachment and other land rights matters including ensuring that documents are fully processed and satisfy company and/or agency requirements.
Negotiation with property owners in acquiring rights-of-way, real property and permits.
Work with property developers to define property rights requirements when planning utility infrastructure for new business.
Execute standardized legal instruments for real estate transactions.
Serve as land rights resource for collaboration with other parties in a team setting in the routing and locating of natural gas infrastructure.
Representation of company at public, agency and industry forums and events.
Tracking and reporting status of land rights and permitting processes to team members and leadership.

Senior Land Management Agent
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, engineering, economics or related field and certifications/licensure/registration in real estate, right-of way professional, titles, appraiser, GIS, Professional Engineer (PE), Project Management Professional (PMP) or related field.
Preferred: MBA, Master’s Degree, or Juris Doctor of Law

- Ten years’ experience or more in title research, right-of-way acquisition, land rights negotiations, and agency permitting, in natural gas infrastructure or similar in a professional office environment.
