Repair Shop Supervisor (QC/Test)
Reports to: Rodney Scott, Reliability Service Centers Manager
Location: Repair Shop at GPC General Services Headquarters, 62 Lake Mirror Rd Building #9, Forest Park, GA 30297
JOB SUMMARY
The QC/Test Supervisor leads a team of specialists and technicians who are responsible for quality control and testing services provided by the Georgia Power Repair Shop. The QC/Test group performs quality control and testing for refurbishment and repair of nuclear safety related and non-safety related motors, UL certified motors, and Transmission and Distribution electrical equipment.
Safety and Quality are paramount in this position.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:
Leadership experience required
Non-destructive testing certification desirable
Quality Control experience highly preferred
Ability to become “Lead Auditor” per ANSI N45.2 is highly desirable
Experience in nuclear power preferred
Experience with Generation, Transmission and/or Distribution electrical equipment testing desirable
Development and maintenance of area procedures preferred
Must possess effective written and oral communications skills and exhibit Our Values
Ability to work with people to achieve organizational objectives
Must be able to support 24/7 operation including holidays, nights, and weekends when necessary
Proficient in relevant computer applications - working knowledge of Microsoft Office, timekeeping application, and work order management system (i.e. Maximo)
Ability to make decisions and demonstrate short/long-term strategic vision of the Repair Shop
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide leadership, direction, and support to a team of 7 Technicians and 2 Quality Control Specialists:
Ensure all employees have an appropriate individual development plan
Provide clear performance expectations with frequent candid feedback
- Manage the following at the Repair Shop:
Quality Control functions
Electrical equipment and motor testing functions
Ensure compliance with Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements (10 CFR 50 App B)
Ensure compliance with UL motor certification requirements
Ensure all work is performed per the Repair Shop Class 1E (nuclear safety related) quality assurance program
Ensure quality inspections performed for materials and work on nuclear safety related motors
Manage acquisition and control of all safety related parts and materials to ensure quality requirements are met
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
Ensure non-destructive testing performed in accordance with procedures
Provide on demand testing services in support of Power Delivery
Manage cost to ensure compliance with current budget targets
Ensure compliance with policies and procedures including financial, expense, etc.
Develop the work plan/schedule for the test areas, implement it, and track success
Ensure that maintenance activities are effectively executed per Four Week Plan
Attend and participate in the weekly planning meeting
Foster an environment of teamwork, self-motivation, open communication, and customer support
Participation in the Repair Shop “On-call Rotation” and storm restoration
