Summary

PowerSecure is seeking individuals that are experienced with HAVC pipe fitment and Installation of equipment. Our company provides a safety centric culture, opportunities for upward growth, and competitive compensation packages. The ideal applicant would also have experience with Sheetmetal duct installation but this is not required.

Qualification Requirements

This position could require extensive travel depending on project location and demands along with working either 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School, GED Equivalency, and/or Trade School; (Relevant work experience and/or certifications will be considered in lieu of).

  • Minimum of 5 years in the Pipe Fitter trade installing.

  • Apprenticeship program a plus, but not required.

  • Experience with sweat, screw, grooved and press-fit connecting processes preferred.

  • Hands-on experience with demolition and installation of various types of commercial HVAC equipment recommended.

  • Experience with Sheet metal duct installation a plus.

  • Clean criminal record and drug-free.

  • Valid Driver’s license.

  • OSHA 10 training (not required, but a plus).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Extensive Knowledge of pipe fitting installation and manufacturing techniques as it relates to the HVAC industry Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints/drawings, project specifications and equipment submittals.

  • Ability to work with HVAC Pipe Fitter Foreman to make material lists for all aspects of project installation needs.

  • Experience with Sheetmetal Duct installation preferred but not required.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals Ability to safely perform all job duties.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job position is that of an installation role; but may require supervision of apprentices, general laborers, as well as subcontractors to effectively complete contracted work.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinate installation schedule with HVAC Installation Foreman.

  • Must be able to work well with others and be able to take direction and delegate responsibilities.

  • Collaborate with HVAC Installation Foreman to ensure material and equipment needs are identified and scheduled prior to start of actual work.

  • Train Pipe Fitter Apprentices in work-related areas to enhance installation knowledge, productivity, and safety.

  • Reliable, self-motivated, and professional.

  • Must be organized with the ability to maintain jobsite cleanliness.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds frequently.

  • Must be physically capable of stooping, crawling, climbing, kneeling, crouching, handling, reaching, depth perception, field of vision, balancing, hearing, and talking.

Work Environment

Worker can be subjected to possible bodily injury from pipe fitting equipment, tools, materials, etc. Work environment may include exposure to weather, extreme heat or cold, noise intensity level, atmospheric conditions, exposure to electrical shock, exposure to radiation, exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, wet and/or humid, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts, working in high exposed places, and working with explosives.
