Executive Compensation Manager
Summary: Responsible for the executive compensation plan designs, CD&A development, compensation committee support, analysis of program effectiveness (including monitoring market trends and regulatory changes), and on-going program administration.
Key resource and thought leader in the compensation group for all aspects of executive compensation including on-going program management and compliance.
Key Responsibilities: Executive compensation governance, plan design, process and regulatory / compliance (CD&A development, support of internal functions)
Coordinate and develop compensation committee materials and presentations (on-going support to committee and coordination with legal, finance, accounting etc.)
Review and monitor job evaluations from compensation team for executive positions
Provide guidance / support for executive severance and consulting agreements
Collaborate and support broader compensation team on key compensation issues (base pay management, broad based incentive plans, etc.)
Proactively identifies and anticipates compensation issues and assist broader team with solutions
Knowledge of the accounting and finance aspects of short-term and long-term variable compensation programs
Extensive knowledge on all regulatory/SEC impacts and reporting requirements
Additional / Ad-Hoc Responsibilities:
Assist with regulatory rate case management
Contributing to compensation strategy development for union negotiations and on-going off-cycle support and analysis
May participate in external industry-based forums
Assist with managing vendor and consulting expectations and on-going relationships
Consulting on the development of offers to external executive hires including make up for forfeited compensation
Key Attributes:
Strong communication skills (written, verbal and presentation). Must be able to take complex issues and communicate clearly. Strong presence with executives (able to build trust).
Strong team player (must be able to work closely with compensation function but also across HR, Finance, Accounting and Legal).
Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and technical depth (able to solve complex problems and deep in executive compensation knowledge i.e. regulations)
Education Requirements:
- BS or BA, Human Resources, Business, or any other related field preferred
Experience, Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- 5 years minimum professional experience in executive compensation management with a minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in the design and administration of executive compensation plans
