The position of Manager, Diversity & Inclusion exists to provide thought leadership, develop strategy, and align initiatives to promote a culture of diversity and inclusion to achieve business results. The position is responsible for coordination of diversity initiatives at Georgia Power, including leveraging the work of talent management, employee resource groups, community involvement, the employee engagement team, and leaders throughout the company. Further responsibilities include tracking and communicating best practices , trends and emerging issues, and risks. The position ensures effective facilitation and guidance for related D&I training. Critical to the role is the development and tracking of comprehensive metrics to monitor progress toward strategic objectives.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide thought leadership and innovation in the development of initiatives, programs, processes, and tools that advance the company’s D&I strategy

  • Partner with business and HR leaders to execute D&I strategy and programs to accelerate our efforts to recruit, develop, and retain our diverse workforce

  • Provide key technical and strategic consulting support related to creating an inclusive work environment, increasing employee representation, and strengthening supplier diversity and community partnerships

  • Monitor, communicate and facilitate access to "Best in Class" diversity resources and benchmarking (training, literature, organizational effectiveness models, etc.)

  • Evolve goals and metrics to direct and track movement toward strategic objectives

  • Effectively manage vendor relationships for diversity and inclusion training, consulting, and benchmarking efforts

  • Proactively research and communicate emerging issues, trends and risks impacting Georgia Power’s workforce and work environment

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience leading and implementing strategic diversity initiatives

  • A minimum of 3 years’ management experience

  • Bachelor's / Master's degree or equivalent professional experience

  • Strong business acumen, with ability to understand organization dynamics and navigate corporate cultures

  • Strategic thinker with ability to link and integrate diversity and inclusion objectives with business goals and future trends

  • Advanced project management skills

  • Proven record of identifying opportunities and delivering innovative solutions

  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships and partnerships at all levels, both internal and external to the company

  • Proven record of a collaborative approach to problem solving

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to effectively engage others at all levels of the organization

  • Experience in group facilitation, and coaching individuals and/or teams

  • Customer service and team-oriented
