The Brand Creative Manager is responsible for leading an award-winning team of professionals in the areas of design (digital/non-digital), print, web, photography and videography. The brand creative team serves as an in-house creative agency providing strategic and creative services to Georgia Power and the affiliates in the system including Southern Company, Alabama Power, Mississippi Power, Southern Power, Southern Nuclear and Southern Gas.
The Brand Creative Manager will work closely with internal clients to understand their business needs and work with the team to make thoughtful recommendations and deliver innovative concepts across traditional and digital channels. He/she will stay abreast of emerging trends and the evolving communication landscape and cultivate a team with advanced digital and design skills that drive engagement and impact with the end user.
The Brand Creative Manager is responsible for maintaining the brand and ensuring guidelines are upheld through all creative executions. He/she will work closely with the Brand Strategy Manager and external agencies to drive brand consistency and cohesion.
This role is a hybrid operational and creative leader. This person is responsible for positioning the creative team for success by ensuring the right talent, processes and systems are in place, while inspiring the team to deliver their best, most impactful creative work.
The Brand Creative Manager will have five direct reports including leads that oversee each functional area of photography and videography, website design and development, digital and traditional graphic design and print.
The successful candidate will be required to produce a portfolio of projects that represent their hands-on experience with design, development and/or photo/video.
5 years of experience in creative, graphic or design services
3 years of management experience
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Advertising, Fine Arts, Journalism or related field
Knowledge and understanding of the creative process—print, digital, web, video and production capabilities
Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects and competing priorities, maintain schedules and budgets, and perform in a fast-paced environment
Experience or working knowledge of design software including but not limited to InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
Good eye for design and the ability to direct creative and technical talent, as well as the ability to counsel clients and develop solid relationships
Ability to apply strategic thinking to all business challenges and opportunities
Experience communicating complex design communication constraints and opportunities to non-technical decision makers
Demonstrates ability to lead cross-functional teams/efforts and able to positively influence others
Excellent people management skills—ability to coach, mentor and develop staff
Superior written and verbal communication skills
Experience with UI Design, or customer experience with Internet-facing applications
Experience or knowledge with web analytical tools such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Webtrends a plus
Experience or knowledge of content management systems such as TeamSite, SharePoint and Adobe Experience Manager preferred
Work closely and effectively with client organizations to evaluate and define the scope and content of Web, design, photo/video, print and digital media requests, and assist in assembling resources to meet objectives and implement solutions and strategies.
Monitors, and adjusts project plans, resources, and strategies to meet the needs of the stakeholders and to ensure the deliverables are on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards, and meet stakeholders' expectations/briefs.
Works closely with the Creative Director on Tier 1 projects to effectively lead the Brand Creative team to ensure on-target business solutions are developed, reviewed, and re-directed if necessary before initial client presentation
Manages and works collaboratively with the leads in web development, graphics, photo/video and print
Supports digital communication needs for Georgia Power as well as Southern Company and its subsidiaries, which include projects for the georgiapower.com, employee intranet, mobile, email, animations, video, digital display and digital signage
Continuously consult with management and clients on emerging electronic communication tools, policy, standards and guidelines, and new technology opportunities to better support the communication goals of clients and the business strategies of the company.
Support live and on-demand video streaming capabilities
Identifies efficiencies with the group through process improvement and implementation of technology and tools to streamline efforts
Defines, maintains and upholds brand standards across all elements
Stays abreast of key issues within the company and its impact in design and messaging
Researches, monitors, and analyzes industry marketing/creative trends, technologies, and best practices.
Attracts, retains, and develops highly effective and creative team of professionals and support staff
Create and promote a culture that values talent, collaboration, autonomy and accountability where every contributor strives to elevate these standards over time, driving the performance of the entire team.
Cultivates a bench of leadership and talent to deliver results and support future growth.

Participate in Emergency Nuclear Communication drill
